With help from Utterson, the police find Hyde's apartment ransacked and all papers burned. Thank you. After reading Dr. Jekyll who is apparently devoid of a profession.

Nineteenth century London can be a very dangerous place. The version is generally considered to be the better of the two, largely because it was made before Hollywood's self-censoring Hays Code was strictly enforced. As they are walking on this particular Sunday, however, Enfield notices a neglected, run down building that is at odds with the rest of the prosperous neighborhood. Hyde who tramples a young girl, disappears into a door on the street, and reemerges to pay off her relatives with a check signed by a respectable gentleman.

Ten years before the events in the novel, he suspended his friendship with Dr. Jekyll, he says, has confined himself to his laboratory for over a week, has ordered all of his meals to be sent in, and has sent Poole on frantic searches to various chemists for a mysterious drug. Generations have and will be able to hear his words and enjoy his mastery of the story. The maid, however, is able to positively identify the murderer as Edward Hyde.
