    The account of this discovery, and the evidence for the genuineness of this fragment, which commences with the prologue, are stated by Mr. The social and religious transformations already underway in European society and western culture would shove these two diverging worlds even farther apart. The mind of God has been made known by means of the inspired words of those representatives whom He chose for that noble task. If He is God, even though He is a man, Jesus is infinitely pure. Only the books of the canon are considered authoritative in matters of faith and practice. As such, would merit no religious respect; in fact, in view of their exalted claims, they would merit only contempt.

    As he explained the gospel in Romans, Paul quoted from the Old Testament more often than in all his 12 other letters combined—showing how important the Old Testament is to understanding the gospel. At Calvary, all of our sins were laid on the sinless Lamb of God, and He gave to us His pure, sinless, perfect obedience to the law of God. But it is the words of the biblical text that are written; hence, the very words of the Bible are God-breathed! He is transcendent and majestic. This marvelous manuscript is in reality the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights of the Christian faith. Greek philosophers, such as Thales of Miletusno longer viewed natural phenomena as the result of free acting, omnipotent gods.

    Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? Consider the following examples. And the thoughts so signaled are not isolated and incoherent, but parts of a complete system that is directly antagonistic to man's thoughts, yet enters their sphere. See, for example: Matthew ; ff.
